About The Artist

I think I have painted some of my best work to date and am really pleased with this show. It's funny ,when I am in my studio preparing for the show  I just get stuck in, keep my head down and get on with it. I work hard producing them and when they are finished I put them in racks. .I'll pull them out occasionally along the way and as time goes on to see how I am doing and that they still look as good as when I put them there. As I progressed and the creative dig deepened I would look at my babies with new eyes. Some I liked ,some I was ambivalent about and some I actively despised and couldn't bare to look at.  It can be a very cruel business to despise  works that have been so hard won. But when they were framed and put on the walls of the Gallery all my little babies came to life and as I said it turns out that it is my best show yet .The cover painting of Newlyn is particularly dear to me as it  gives back so much to the eye. Funny thing painting!
